Kathleen Dyer was born in Plymouth, the capital of Montserrat. Spending an unforgettable childhood in the village of George Street. Attending primary and junior secondary school, and later The Montserrat Technical College. Obtaining City & Guilds Qualifications in Mathematics, English Literature, Language, and Electrical Engineering after 2 years.
Upon graduating, she worked with Antilles Television as an operator. Meanwhile singing in the islands folk group; The Emerald Community Singers.
Regrettably she never foresaw the strange twist/Hurricane Hugo, that tore her from the embrace of her loving island with its colourful people in 1989. Leaving many homeless, and jobless. Including herself.
She decided to relocate to the United States .Where she worked as a nanny and housekeeper. Continuing her education; achieving her High School Diploma. Meanwhile training in Taekwando , participating in tournaments, to overcome shyness. She also worked as a Sales Associate with the Bronx J C Penney Department store.
Living abroad has taught her many life lessons; humility, selflessness, respect, and most of all tolerance of Self and Others.
Throughout these shifts or wind of change. Kathleen has never given up on her dream to one day become a published author. She smiles…Thinking of her favourite line from the movie The Field of Dreams; If you build it they will come. So she invites you now, come to the feast and enjoy what she has so lovingly and laboriously mixed, plotted, stitched and rubbed together. By the lessons that life has skilfully taught. Beginning in Montserrat as a girl, then as a young'ne in the United States, and now here in the United Kingdom. She is now realising her strength/ setting free her gift from Jah; who blesses us each with a talent, to help us map our way in life; success is only a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.
